BUCKY.

he’d seen her first.

the glimpse had been a brief one, but he’d seen her, and even after everything, there was no doubt that that was his sister. the sight, well–a lifetime ago he’d have thought it impossible, but no, because there she was. he wanted to approach at first sight, but–no. no, because she was smiling, she was laughing, she was happy, and he’d already done enough damage in the world already, no point in ruining her day.

so he’d waited, waited until she’d begun the walk back to her apartment, waited until they could talk alone. he’d made an effort to go quietly, but no, she heard him.

“ …yeah, yeah, it’s me. ” i read your obituary. “ could ask you the same question. “

a soft chuckle escaped her lips. her brother was here, in front of her. he had survived the war and now they were meeting face to face for the first time. a part of her was a LITTLE angry at steve who had helped her get things established once she came back. he could have told her about her brother so she was curious as to why he had left that little detail out.

taking a small step forward, she looked her brother up and down, taking in every single detail that she could. he looked just as she remembered him except the hair was longer. as she looked down, she noticed something shine in the afternoon sun. she noticed that his one hand was made of metal; or so she thought. looking back up, she bit down on her lip.

“ I don’t know how it’s possible. I really really don’t. is there some place we can go to talk?

rebecca ADORED THE SUMMERTIME. she loved feeling the sun on her face and the wind blowing her hair around. there was something about the summer that made her feel as light as a feather; like she was floating on a cloud. that particular summer she and a few friends decided to travel to bucharest, romania. one of her friends had some family there so they were staying with them that summer.

she was having fun learning the language and culture of the country. one afternoon, she went to the small corner market to pick up fruits for a pie they were making when SHE SAW SOMEONE out of the corner of her eye. after paying she slowly turned around but realized there was no longer anyone there. letting out a sigh, she thought it was simply a trick of the mind and began her walk home. as she reached the small apartment complex she heard a creak behind her and quickly turned around; her EYES GREW WIDE at who she saw.
