BUCKY.

“No, Becca, it’s been cleaned already!”

He was practically jumping away from her in his haste to get out of range of the peroxide. Which also meant he jumped away from the new bandage. Stark had already sent a medical team to check them all over, and he’d been checked again on the quinjet over. It could not be any more cleaner. He could remember, distantly, their mother’s chiding voice when she’d try to clean out his childhood cuts with the same stuff, and he’d hated it then. How a supersoldier who was tortured for seventy years could still have an aversion to it was a mystery to the world.

“Listen, mad scientists are running out of ideas,” Bucky said, still eyeing the rag carefully as he came back into range. “Giant squirrels. Got ‘em corralled up, but they were still angry. One swiped at me, and I didn’t dodge in time. Hence this.”

He gestured at his midsection with his right hand. It was his own fault really. He’d looked away from the creatures to check Steve had his shield back and one had just reach out and ripped right through his tactical gear. Very annoying more than anything else.

rebecca HAD BEEN TOO YOUNG to remember her mother patching up their wounds but she could remember her father doing it a few times if it was bad enough. she could recall all the times bucky tried to get away because he hated how it always made the wounds sting but at least they would heal properly. ditching the rag, she quickly applied the bandage and once she was sure it was secure and in place she let her hands drop onto her lap. in a way, she started to believe her brothers story about this giant squirrel. she had come back from the dead so crazier things had happened.

“ I suppose it is possible I mean, I came back from the dead so it doesn’t sound too crazy. just            be careful next time okay? I don’t want to see something really bad happen to you. you’re my              brother and I CARE ABOUT YOU.  ”

she would honestly do anything for her brother and was thankful that she got to do things over again now that she had returned. picking up all of the supplies, she discarded the wrappers and soiled bandages before tossing the rags into the dirty clothes hamper. as she made her way back, she grabbed a clean shirt and placed it on his lap before sitting down beside him.

how about we order dinner in tonight? we can watch some movies and maybe I can show you           some of the stuff I worked on this past semester. school is so much different now than it was               back when we were kids.
