BUCKY.

As soon as she agreed, he slipped an arm under her knees and behind her shoulders, and when he stood, he took her with him. She was held securely against his chest, blanket and all. He spared the other girls a last glance before carrying her over to his room, pulling the door over with his foot as he passed. Neither of them seemed to have been woken up, and slept on peacefully enough.

Bucky could sleep fairly deeply–he’d had to with three baby sisters around. But since they lost their parents he’d trained himself to listen out for them in case they needed him in the night. He’d done a similar thing for when he slept over with Steve, in case his asthma had kicked up overnight.

Setting her down on his bed, he rubbed the tops of her arms, listening to her speak, explain what had spooked her so badly. He listened and nodded, before leaning down a little to look her in the eyes.

“Becca, ain’t no one ever going to take you away,” he said gently, his face earnest. “And if they try, they’ll have to deal with me. I’ll always bring you home, alright? Always.”

she listened TO WHAT HE HAD TO SAY and she felt a small smile tug at her lips. it might have been faint but it was still there. that was something she loved about her brother; that he would protect her no matter what the cost and in all honesty, she would do the same for him as well. she knew he worked hard to keep him and their sisters fed, with a roof over their heads and a place to sleep at night. she was hoping that she could get some kind of job soon so that SHE COULD HELP OUT by any means necessary.

leaning forward herself, she wrapped her arms around him once more in a warm embrace. he made her feel safe and she needed that now more than ever because she had a gut feeling that neither of them were going to be getting that much sleep that night. letting her arms drop down to her sides, she wiggled over a bit in the bed and pulled the sheets over her tiny frame with the blanket from earlier now on top.

if anyone ever tried to hurt you they would have to deal with me. I’ll kick their asses.

rebecca knew that it was not lady like to swear but she felt like she got her point across. rolling onto her side she scooted over a bit so that her brother would have room; she didn’t want to roll over and squish him or anything ( even though she was pretty darn tiny to begin with ). she could feel her eyelids growing heavy as sleep threatened to take over but she FOUGHT TO STAY AWAKE. she knew that if she closed her eyes that the nightmares would come.

I don’t want to sleep            the nightmares will come if I fall asleep.
