BUCKY.
He continued stroking her hair for a moment before moving to rub her back instead. He could feel the damp through his shirt, but he really couldn’t care less about that. He cared far more about calming her down, making her feel safe. He wondered what had spooked her so bad, but that could wait until morning. He didn’t need to rile her up any further. His words had turned to shushing quietly, keeping the blanket wrapped up around her.
“Sure, ‘course I will,” he promised softly, brushing a thumb over her cheeks to wipe away some of the tears when she looked at him. “I’ll stay right with you, don’t you worry. Want to come to my room?”
Bucky had gotten the bigger bed, and it would be much easier to fit the two of them than her small single. It was easy enough to scoop her up and carry her, she was a light thing even now. rebecca KNEW THAT SHE could always depend on her brother to chase the dark shadows away and make everything better. she was close with her sisters yes, but it was always bucky she went to when she was upset. she looked up to him when she had been little and she did even today. that was something that would never ever change. with a small nod of her head, she WRAPPED THE BLANKET around her small frame a bit tighter, with the intention of bringing it with her to his room.
“ you got the bigger bed anyway and I wouldn’t want you to be uncomfortable in here. ”
she knew that it would be much easier for the two of them to fit on his bed verses her own. she and her sisters beds were all pretty small compared to the bed her brother had. she knew that she would eventually have to tell him about what she had SEEN IN HER DREAM. just the thought of it made her skin crawl. reaching up with one hand, she wiped at her eyes as she sniffled softly.
“ t-t-there was this man and h-h-he took me away from y-y-you and everyone else. I had n-no way of g-getting back and I was so s-s-scared. It all felt so real and I’m a-afraid if I close my e- eyes again it will all c-come t-t-true. ”
